Reminder of Special Election

The Town of Deer Trail will conduct a polling place special election on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

The 2023 special election ballot will include two questions in an effort to determine the town’s new nuisance ordinance, which is currently Ordinance No. 261.

Important Information about your Drinking Water

High Levels of Fluoride

Please note higher levels of fluoride were found naturally in our ground water. Fluoride is not something the Town adds to our water. If you have specific questions about this notice, please call Town Hall at 303-769-4464. Notices were sent out to every resident including bulk water accounts on July 27, 2023.

Flood Warning in Effect until 1:45 AM MDT Friday

What: Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Where: Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including the following counties, in east central Colorado, Elbert. In northeast Colorado, Adams, Arapahoe and Morgan.

When: Until 145 AM MDT Friday.

Notice of Election

The Town will conduct a polling place Special Election on August 22, 2023. Please make sure you are registered to vote in the Town of Deer Trail on or before the date of election. Voting Starts at 7:00 AM and concludes at 7:00 PM.

Water Tower Leak

The water tower located at the Town Hall is leaking. We are aware of the problem, and it is being addressed. Thank you for your concern.

Food, Friends and Fireworks!

The Town is hosting a potluck July 3 at 4:00 PM followed by fireworks at dusk. Both events will be held at the Rodeo Grounds. The Town will provide a taco bar and drinks. Residents are asked to bring a dessert or side dish.

Spring Clean Up

The next scheduled Town clean up day will be Sunday, April 16th, 2023. Dumpsters will be located at 2nd and Elm St. from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or until dumpsters are full.

  • Paints
  • Liquids
  • Batteries
  • Oil
  • Antifreeze
  • Chemicals
  • Tires
  • Anything with Freon (refrigerators etc)

Board of Trustees passed Ordinance 291

The Board of Trustees passed Ordinance 291 on December 15, 2022. This Ordinance implements a $10 late fee for any payment made more than 10 days after the date payment was due. This Ordinance went into effect January 1, 2023.

Change in Bulk Water Rates

The Town has increased non residential bulk water rates from $19.00 per 1000 gallons to $70 per 1000 gallons. These rates will take effect January 15, 2023.
