Resolution Number 98-12

A resolution relating to the regulation of attendance of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail.

Whereas, The Town of Deer Trail, (hereinafter referred to as the "Town"), in the County of Arapahoe and the State of Colorado, is the body corporate operating as a statutory town pursuant to the general statutes of the State of Colorado; and

Whereas, the Board of Trustees of the Town (hereinafter referred to as the "Board"), deems that it is both preferable and appropriate and in the best interests of the Town to adopt a "Board of Trustees Attendance Policy".

Now therefore be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail Colorado:

  1. All members of the Board have the right to full participation in all meetings.
  2. Trustees are expected to attend all regularly scheduled Board meetings and work sessions. In case of emergency, e.g. illness, Board members should notify the Town Clerk or Mayor in advance of the meeting if at all possible.
  3. Board members who wish to be excused from a regular meeting should make this request as early as possible but no later than the regular meeting preceding the anticipated absence. This will assist in scheduling important items to obtain the participation and vote of all Board members.
  4. Board members are expected to be in their seats one minute before meeting start time.
  5. If a Board member fails to follow this policy and is absent, without reasonable excuse, from more than three scheduled Board meetings within a period of one year, the Board may vote to remove such Board member from office in accordance with C.R.S. 31-4-307. In such event, the subject Board member shall be notified, in writing, of the Board's intent to vote on his or her removal and shall be given an opportunity to address the Board, at a regular or special meeting, prior to the vote for removal being taken.

Adopted and approved this 1st Day of December 1998

LeRoy A. Koch, Mayor

Attest: Jessica E. Stoumbaugh, Town Clerk
