A resolution levying general property taxes for the year 2022 to aid in the operation of and help defray the costs of government for the Town of Deer Trail, Colorado for the 2023 Budget Year.
Whereas, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail has adopted the annual budget in accordance with the Local Government Budget Law on December 15, 2022; and
Whereas, the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for general operating purposes from property tax revenue is $132,307; and,
Whereas, the Town finds that it is required to temporarily lower the operating mill levy to render a refund for $23,417, and:
Whereas, the 2022 valuation for assessment for the Town of Deer Trail as certified by the County Assessor is $11,575,392.;
Now therefore be is resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail Colorado:
Section 1.
That for the purpose of meeting all general operating expenses of the Town during the 2023 budget year, there is hereby levied a tax of 13.453 mills upon each dollar of the total valuation for assessment of all taxable prope1ty within the Town for the year 2023.
Section 2.
That for the purpose of rendering a refund to its constituents during budget year 2023, there is hereby levied a temporary tax credit/mill levy reduction of 2.023 mills. That the Town Clerk/Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to immediately certify to the County Commissioners of Arapahoe County, Colorado, the mill levies for the Town of Deer Trail as hereinabove determined and set.
