Resolution Number 04-03

A resolution submitting a proposed ballot question to a vote of the registered electors of the Town of Deer Trail. 

Whereas, pursuant to C.R.S. §31-16-105, the Town of Deer Trail may determine at a regular or special election to meet the statutory publication requirements for ordinances of the Town by publishing its ordinances by title only; and

Whereas, on April 6, 2004, the Town of Deer Trail will conduct its regular election; and

Whereas, the Town currently spends an estimated $400 per year in publication costs, and publishing ordinances by title only will substantially reduce this expenditure; and

Whereas, the Board of Trustees desires to seek approval of the registered electors of the Town of Deer Trail to publish ordinances by title only.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail, Colorado:

Section 1.

The following question shall appear on the ballot for the regular election of the Town of Deer Trail, to be held on April 6, 2004:

Publlishing Ordinances by Title only 

Shall the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail, be permitted to publish the test of new or proposed ordinances by title only, rather than by publishing the ordinances i full, in meeting the requirements for publication of the Town ordinances as set forth in C.R.S. §31-16-105, so not as the full text of the ordinance is available for inspection and copying at the office of Town Clerk during normal business hours? 

Section 2. 

The Board of Trustees may submit additional ballot issues, questions or other measures to appear on the ballot of the regular municipal election by the adoption of appropriate resolutions or ordinances as required by law.

Section 3.

The officers and employees of the Town are hereby authorized and directed to take all actions necessary and appropriate to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution in accordance with Colorado law.
