Resolution Number 03-03

A resolution adopting certain revisions to the Town of Deer Trail Personnel Handbook

Whereas, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail has adopted certain personnel policies and regulations for Town employees, contained in the Town of Deer Trail Personnel Handbook (the "Handbook"); and

Whereas, the Board of Trustees finds that such certain revisions should be made to the Handbook, as detailed in exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.

Now, therefore be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail, Colorado:

Section 1.

The amendments to the Town of Deer Trail Personnel Handbook as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, are hereby adopted and shall be incorporated into the Town of Deer Trail Personnel Handbook.

Section 2.

The Town Clerk shall make such revised procedures available in written form to all Town employees, and all Town employees shall be instructed as to their meaning.

VII. Performance Evalutation.

B. Timing.

  1. Employees who are in their introductory period shall have their job performance evaluated after the first 90 days. All other employees will have their performance evaluated on an annual basis.

X. Holidays/Vacation/Leave Time

B. Vacation Leave.

  1. An employee shall accrue paid vacation at the rate of 80 hours per year (3.08 hours per pay period) from his/her anniversary date. After 10 years of employment 120 hours per year (4.62 hours per pay period). No additional paid vacation is accrued while an employee is engaged in overtime work. No vacation leave is available until after the first 12 months of employment, at which time the full 80 hours for the first year becomes available.

C. Sick Leave.

  1. An employee shall accrue paid sick leave at the rate of 40 hours per year (1.54 hours per pay period) from his/her anniversary date. No additional paid sick leave is accrued while an employee is engaged in overtime work. Sick leave will be paid at the employee's regular rate of pay at the time the leave is used.
  2. Upon separation from employment, the employee shall be paid as follows for accrued sick leave: 'A of regular pay.
  3. Sick leave may be used only for the following purposes:
    1. Absence due to the employee's illness or injury; or
    2. Absence for a medical appointment of the employee or an employee's family member. For purposes of this paragraph, the term "family member" means the employee's spouse, children, or parents.

XV. Compensation and Benefits.

A. General.

  1. Employees shall be paid at the following pay periods: bi-weekly. In the event that said pay period falls on a holiday, payment shall be made on the last working day preceding such holiday.
  2. The workweek is declared to be a seven consecutive day period beginning at 12:01 A.M. on each Sunday and ending at midnight on each Saturday.
