An ordinance renewing the cable television franchise with Galaxy Telecom, L.P. and approving the change of expiration date.
Whereas, Galaxy Telecom, L.P. operates a cable television system within the Town of Deer Trail, Colorado under the franchise Ordinance No. 167 passed by the Board of Trustees on April 8, 1986, as thereafter transferred and assigned; and
Whereas, said franchise was granted for a period of fifteen (15) years and is due to expire on April 8, 2001; and
Whereas, Galaxy Telecom,.L.P. has requested that the Town of Deer Trail renew the franchise to operate the cable television system within the Town.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail, that:
Section 1:
The request of Galaxy Telecom, L.P. to renew the cable television franchise dated April 8, 1986, as assigned and amended, and to change the expiration date thereof to April 8, 2011, is hereby granted.
Section 2:
Galaxy will designate a local origination channel for the Town's use.
Section 3
Galaxy will provide one free drop to the Deer Trail Rural Fire Protection District facility and one free drop to the Arapahoe County Davies Library.
Section 4:
Except to the extent affected herein, the Franchise Ordinance dated April 8, 1986, as assigned and amended shall continue in full force and effect.
