Call to Order

The Board of Trustees of the Town of Deer Trail met in a regular session on Tuesday November 8th, 2022, at the Town Hall, 555 Second Ave Deer Trail, Colorado. Mayor Pro Tern Hendricks called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Roll Call

3. Approval of the Agenda

Trustee Kettling moved; Trustee Mounce seconded the motion to approve the agenda with the following corrections. Removing item 9B and 9C. Voting went as follows.

4A. Approval of the regular and special meeting minutes

Trustee Kettling moved; Trustee Mounce seconded the motion to approve the regular meeting minutes for Tuesday October 11th, 2022, and the special meeting minutes for October 21st, 2022. Voting went as follows.

6. Approval of the Bills

Trustee Mounce moved; Trustee LaMont seconded the motion to approve the bills. Voting went as follows.

8A. Nuisance Ordinance

Trustee Mounce moved; Trustee LaMont seconded the motion to table until we can talk to both Susie and Corey about our current additions to the ordinance and get clarification on how to move forward. Voting went as follows.

8B. FM Antenna

Trustee Kerin moved; Trustee Mounce seconded the motion to approve table this until a contract is drawn up that both parties can agree on. Voting went as follows

8C. Water and Sewer tap late fees/ fees to turn water back on

Trustee Hendricks moved; Trustee Kettling seconded the motion to approve a $10 late fee with a 10-day grace period and a turn off fee of $25 and a turn on fee of $25. The voting went as follows.

8C. Water and Sewer tap late fees/ fees to turn water back on

Trustee Hendricks moved; Trustee LaMont seconded the motion to approve a $10 late fee with a 10-day grace period and a turn off fee off $26 and a turn on fee of $24. The voting went as follows.

Trustee Mounce moved; Trustee LaMont seconded the motion to change pay day officially from Friday to Thursday. Voting went as follows.

8E. Additional Bank Signer

Trustee Hendricks moved; Trustee Mounce seconded the motion to add Byron Mounce as a check signer to account numbers ending in 3827, 1451, 4025, 4033, 4823, 8438 and 9113 at Independent Financial Bank. This motion shall also remove former board members: Dorothy Pisel and James Johnson as check signers. Voting went as follows.

Trustee Hendricks moved; Trustee Kettling seconded the motion to table until we can check with our attorney and Mayor about a possible easement for the properties in question. Voting went as follows.

9E. New Xerox Copier Contract

Trustee Kerin moved; Trustee LaMont seconded the motion to approve the contract with Professional Documents solutions. They will buy out our existing contract with Lewan and issue a new C8130 T2 Xerox machine. Voting went as follows.

9F. Arapahoe County Law Enforcement Services

Trustee Hendricks moved; Trustee Mounce seconded the motion to table this item until we can contact Arapahoe County and ask if Deer Trail can be one of the 23 students selected to receive a scholarship. Voting went as follows.

Public Comment

We had a question about whether our updated animal ordinance will include chickens.

Mrs. Anderson commented that she will be reaching out to Glen (the builder) for information on the poor state of the ditches in from of the town homes in Creek.
