What: Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Where: Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including the following counties, in east central Colorado, Elbert. In northeast Colorado, Adams, Arapahoe and Morgan.

When: Until 145 AM MDT Friday.

Impacts: Flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring, * Additional Details... - At 202 AM MDT, Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 3 and 4.5 inches of rain fell in the East Bijou Creek Basin in Elbert County Wednesday evening. - This includes the following streams and drainages... East Bijou Creek, Middle Bijou Creek and Bijou Creek The water will move northward from Elbert county and eventually into portions of Arapahoe, Adams and Morgan counties during the next 12 to 24 hours along the Bijou Creek Basin - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Deer Trail, Leader, Hoyt and Hoyt Beet Dump.

Tips: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other low lying areas.
